For too long, the narrative has been that rural America is dying. We’re set on changing that.

Shelby County Cares is dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being of farming families in Shelby County and beyond by restoring the sense of neighborliness and mutual care that have defined our communities for decades. We elevate the real issues facing farm families, connecting those in need with tailored supports and channeling resources where they’re needed most. By helping rebuild our community from the inside out, we’re cultivating pride, resilience, and a shared belief in the future of rural life that we hope will inspire similar movements across the country.

It's truly inspiring to see genuine support for our local famers—not just through words, but through meaningful action.
The times we are facing in the ag sector bring about a heavy burden, and when we have people who recognize that burden, it becomes easier to carry and persevere through the hardships - to keep the faith. When the folks carrying those burdens are recognized and respected, and feel appreciated, it’s felt in the heart. It helps them keep trudging forward, fighting the good fight, and choosing life.
